All too often all we hear are the problems and failures; but in this case it's different. This time we wish to acknowledge your outstanding cooperation and support during the construction period. Many problems have arisen in design interpretation, material supply and selection, and construction coordination, but in each case your project manager has helped "pull it through". February 6, 2002 The Pennsylvania State University University Park, PA RE: Henderson North Building I am writing to you to commend you and your company on the excellent renovation project that was completed during the fall 2001 in the Henderson North Building on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University. In addition to improvements in the main lobby and adjoining corridors, your crews completed a major renovation of our "Living Center" on the first floor and created a suite of offices for our Student Services Center on the second floor. Overall, your crews spent more than 12-weeks sharing Henderson North with our faculty, staff and students. The quality of the renovations that your company was first-class. The area that you worked on is the "front door" to Penn State's College of Health and Human Development. As such, we wanted an entrance that was elegent, deignified and yet welcoming. We wanted to restore these areas to their original grandeur...and your skilled workman have made our dreams come true. Hoffman and Popovich Architects developed an extraordinary concept for these spaces, but, of course, someone had to transform those plans into reality. My congratulations to you and your team for the outstanding work that was performed. Your employees paid attention to even the smallest detail and were meticulous in implenting our vision for these spaces. Indeed, their input went beyond merely building the space according to the plans, their involement in the project brought about improvements to the plans as the space uncovered itself. Beyond their technical and professional skills, the representatives of your company that were on site were "good neighbors." As I am sure that you have experienced over your your years in the construction business, renovations cause disruptions - noise, dust, hallway blockages and dozens of other small conveniences for the workers who also occupy the building as they are being renovated. But your men were always polite, tried their best to work with our people and always ... always ... were respectful. It was and extraordinary performance and as president of the company, you should be very proud. Two your your employees deserve special mentions - i.e. your Project Manager and Superintendent. Both of these gentlemen were the ultimate professionals. Indeed, both deserve our praise and our appreciation for a job well done and for their patience in dealing with the inevitable bureaucracy of an organization as large as Penn State. As your constant representative on site, your Supervisor performed his duties and went about his responsiblities with confidence, diligence and complete authority. Throughout the entire project, I was left with the impression that your Superintendent was prepared to do whatever it took to get the job done right employing the highest standards of the construction industry. As an academic administrator for more than fifteen years, I have been involved with dozens of construction projects - big and small. Few have gone as smoothly as this one and, I am convinced, it is because we had both the right architect and as importantly, the right construction company. Congratulations to everyone in your organization for a job well done. I sincerely hope that I will have the pleasure of working with your company again in another Penn State job. Sincerely, Raymond T. Coward, Ph. D. Raymond E. and Erin Stuart Schultz Dean of Health and Human Development |

December 13, 2000 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of General Services RE: Construction of a New Facility Western Area Emergency Operations Center Indiana, Indiana County, PA It has recently been my pleasure to work with your firm on the project listed above. Because I think that letters of commendation are written too infrequently, I felt compelled to write you. Your team of personnel did an excellent job in supplying necessary paperwork in a timely manner and in producing a most acceptable project. Your project manager went out of his way many times to keep the project moving toward completion, and your superintendent always went the extra mile to ensure a very complimentary building. They produced a building that, with workmanship considered, is one of the finest that DGS has ever constructed. You can be very proud of their efforts and accomplishments. I encourage you to bid future DGS projects and am looking forward to working again with you and your staff - a definite compliment to the construction industry. Thank you. Respectfully, George N. Hampton Construction Inspector Supervisor |
